Jagruti Mahila Swavalambana Kendra, Belagavi, was inaugurated on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami in September 2009. The Kendra serves poor, needy widows, slum-dwellers, orphans and despondent women in particular — helping them become economically independent, self-supportive and lead a dignified life.
The Kendra conducts programmes to create social, educational, health and patriotism awareness, and organises various religious and cultural programmes to preserve the traditions of the area.
