There are a large number of socially and economically backward people in North Karnataka, and many children have been deprived of education and culture. There is still a situation where children are forced to earn a livelihood at an age when they should be in school studying, writing and playing.
The Vidya Vikas Project provides free tuitions to students from backward areas and creates awareness within the community to prevent school drop-outs, bringing deprived children back into the mainstream of education.
